Dynetics Quality Engineer in Huntsville, Alabama

The Quality Engineer will support mechanical and electrical manufacturing and assembly integration and testing for human spaceflight hardware along with aerospace and defense programs. Candidate will perform program quality planning, analyze program QA requirements, develop inspection/test procedures and process plans, finalize source inspection checklists, coordinate & review nonconformance documentation and support root cause/corrective actions & Material Review Boards. Other key duties include reviewing AS9102 FAI documentation, working with DCMA and other government quality assurance agencies. Collection and reporting of Quality Metrics, reviewing and approving new drawings, supporting project managers during design, manufacturing readiness reviews, PDR, CDR, APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, and conducting supplier surveillance audits.
Candidate must possess a Bachelor's of Science in Engineering or equivalent degree and/or applicable Quality Certification(s) with five (5) years of relevant experience preferred.
Demonstrated technical expertise in spacecraft, launch vehicle, or high-performance aircraft development; including one or more of the following: human spaceflight, advance aircraft, precision optical sensors, Environmental Control Life Support systems or avionics.
In lieu of degree, High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of (5) years of experience in quality engineering under an AS9100 system or equivalent experience in DOD or Aerospace quality control.
Candidate must have experience working with non-conforming material, performing failure analysis, identifying root cause and implementing corrective actions.
Candidate must have experience writing work instructions, procedures, and implementing QMS documentation associated with ISO9001/AS9100.
Candidate must be able to review and interpret contract quality clauses, print requirements, and technical data and be able to develop and document appropriate quality verification responses, procedures, plans, and work instructions, including AS9102 First Article Inspection documentation.
Experience using basic measurement tools
Experience with ISO/AS9100 type audits & surveillance reviews of sub-tier partners
Some travel will be required, typically no more than one week per month or 25%.
Candidate must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
Candidate must be able to assist QC Inspectors with applicable measurement review and acceptance criteria
Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.
The position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams & sub-tier partners.
Must be able to pass an eye exam for visual inspection
Candidates must be a resident of North Alabama or willing to relocate to the area.
Preferred candidates will also meet some of the following:
Experience and working knowledge of J-STD-001GS, IPC 610, and IPC620S Standards
Experience with Common Process Framework (CPF) transitions
Knowledge of System Safety
Knowledge of NDE practices
Knowledge and/or experience with working in a cleanroom environment
Knowledge of CMMI Level Requirements
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
